Work and activity at the garden is all a buzz! Every Tuesday and Thursday (and some Saturdays) between 9am - 12noon you can come along to the community garden and join in, pass on your knowledge or learn something new! Meet new people, enjoy your own quiet time, activity at all levels, from heavy work to very light tasks, whatever you can do. Woodville Gardens Uniting Church grounds, 66 Ridley Grove, Woodville Gardens just next to the Sing Sing restaurant and near to Ridley grove primary school.The garden is well established and thriving thanks to the tireless and dedicated work of those who volunteer in the garden, and to those who support behind the scenes. The garden committee are now hosting regular events and workshops at the garden, so there is always something that local community can take their hand at and get involved.
There are currently three local walking groups who are always looking for new members to join them. Refer to the times below to find a walking group suited for you.
Westwood Walkers. Tues at 9am
Every Tuesday meet next to the Westwood Sales Office-Westwood Blvd, Ferryden Park.
Kilkenny Walkers. Mon at 4.30pm (during Winter) and 6pm (during daylight savings)
Every Monday meeting out front of Greater Union Cinemas at Centro Arndale Shopping Centre, Kilkenny.

Local primary schools within the Westwood community are coming together on regular evenings each week during school term. Students receive access to free, structured physical education sessions between 3.30pm and 5.00pm through the Active After-Schools Program funded by the Australian Sports Commission.
The program is always looking for more parents to get involved. Become a Community Coach and get paid! If you are interested in getting involved, passing on some of your sporting skills & knowledge or becoming a Community Coach, please contact local schools for more information. This program functions as part of the Active After Schools Communities program conducted by the Australian Sports Commission.
Promoting health and exercise to the schools and their students through sport, exercise and activity. the PasSport to Participation program is an organised sports day that invites local sports and schools to participate in a celebration of activity at a central venue within the Westwood development area. Building a fun atmosphere with smiles and free give away's. The event is hosted in conjunction with local primary schools, Mansfield Park PS, Ferryden Park PS, Ridley Grove PS, Challa Gardens PS and St Patricks School, as well as REGENCY TAFE Sport and Recreation students, and Westwood. All sports get a set time with each group of children, and then the groups just move onto the next sport.

To promote the value of education and study, the Westwood Continuing Education Scholarship rewards people undertaking the challenge of studying, with financial help towards course fees and such. There are six categories, from primary school entry through to older people and the disabled. To enter the scholarship, Weatwood residents can complete an application form and write a letter with the reason they should be chosen and need assistance. For more details, refer to the Westwood Scholarship Programme of this website. This is an annual program closing in early January with successful applicants advised by early February each year.
